Description
Housed in a unique octagonal building built in 1897, the Cottage Grove Museum is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The museum's mission is to serve as an educational resource to stimulate public interest through the collection, preservation and display of items related to local history. Highlights of the collection include a coat worn by Marian Wodcott when she was rescued from the Titanic, a collection of original photos from the set of Buster Keaton's famous movie, The General, which was shot in and around Cottage Grove in 1926 and hundreds of artifacts from the early days of Cottage Grove. Exhibits rotate throughout the year.
