We're honored to host staff who work for Senator Jeff Merkley* on this educational Zoom call.
Lucas Smith (Sen. Merkley’s policy advisor for appropriations) and Stacey Jochimsen (Sen. Merkley’s field director) will share how to access "congressionally directed spending requests." These requests are federal spending directed to specific projects. Previously known as “earmarks," these requests can help support arts and culture projects.
How does this work?
Learn from Lucas and Stacey how to apply for these requests. They will share tips on how to be successful with your requests. Lucas and Stacey will demystify the process.
This is a great opportunity to learn and ask questions about this mysterious process. Let's bring more federal dollars home to Oregon!
*Senator Merkley is a member of the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee, and he chairs the subcommittee on Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies.
