Moving Forwarding with NAGPRA

This workshop focuses on the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA) enacted in 1990. The law’s precise impact on museums will be examined.  Panel members with specialized NAGPRA knowledge will share specific information—compliance requirements, collection evaluation, outreach to Native tribes—and identify available tools and resources illuminating the intricacies of the repatriation process. Participants will come away with a better understanding of NAGPRA and how you can put these tools to use in your organization.

This workshop is offered in conjunction with the Oregon Heritage Conference, Harness the Power of Heritage, April 22-24, 2020 in Corvallis, OR.
