Description

In this 60-minute webinar, learn about Oregon Agriculture in the Classroom (AITC) and Oregon Historical Society’s low to no-cost resources that can help you build out your museum’s exhibit or educational programming. Oregon AITC's mission is to help students grow in their knowledge of agriculture, the environment, and natural resources for the benefit of Oregonians today and in the future. We provide educators with free or low-cost materials that supplement students' learning, especially within the common core. We offer a variety of materials that are sure to inspire both educators and students alike. After this webinar, participants will walk away with an understanding of how to access and order Oregon AITC materials for the benefit of their educational programming. Oregon Historical Society provides a traveling exhibit program, and a traveling trunk program designed for audience engagement and includes lesson plans – these can incentivize school groups to visit your museum in order to reach learning goals for mandated state educational standards. Presenters: Jade Davidson, Executive Director, Oregon Agriculture in the Classroom; Nicole Yasuhara, Museum Director, Oregon Historical Society; Katie Pearson, Education Manager, Oregon Historical Society
