Dear Colleagues with the Oregon Museums Association:
The AASLH Standards and Ethics Committee is working with regional and national partners to produce a white paper that will provide best practices for working with “Friends groups” in museums and cultural heritage organizations. For those unfamiliar with “Friends groups”, these are defined as nonprofit organizations whose sole purpose is to support another organization through such activities as the raising of funds, sponsorship of programs, or other initiatives.
In order to produce a document that is of the greatest benefit, we are surveying those in the field for their thoughts on “Friends groups”, how they have or could benefit your organization and potential issues that have or could arise. The survey is available here. It’s estimated that it will take you no more than 15 minutes to complete.
Thank you, in advance, for participation.
Jennifer Huebscher
