My name is Meg Glazier-Anderson. I am the Registrar at the Columbia River Maritime Museum in Astoria, Oregon as well as the Oregon State Representative for the Registrars Committee Western Region. I am reaching out to you and your colleagues about joining the RC-WR and to inform you of an upcoming in-person event being held at my museum.
The RC-WR represents and advocates for Registrars and Collections Managers in the Western United States. We promote high standards and best practices in our profession through workshops, service initiatives, stipends, a quarterly newsletter and networking through meetings and conferences. Membership is only $15 per year.
The Registrars Committee will be hosting an in-person event taking place at the Columbia River Maritime Museum in Astoria on Thursday, June 2. The event will include a talk about collections moves, a behind-the-scenes look at collections storage and a first look at our new exhibit, Shipwrecks!.
To register and attend, you will need to become a member of the RC-WR. (https://www.rcwr.org/join/)
The past few years have been difficult for museums and museum personnel throughout the state. With the uncertainty of the pandemic, the RC-WR is working to build as many relationships with collections professionals throughout the western region as possible.
Please let me know if you would like more information about the event or joining the RC-WR organization.
Best,
Meg
