    Outbound Sales Representative

    Regular, Part-Time


    The Oregon Museum of Science and industry is looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Outbound Sales Representative to join our team. The Outbound Sales Representative is responsible for promoting and selling OMSI’s product to current and prospective customers. The position will be called upon to connect with customers from a variety of backgrounds and work to position OMSI’s products in the most compelling way possible. The Outbound Sales Representative will have aggressive personal and team revenue goals and will be incentivized accordingly. 
    The ideal candidate must have, but not limited to:

    • Strong customer service skills, including a pleasant but direct demeanor, the ability to make people feel comfortable, and have the ability to influence people’s decisions without being pushy.
    • Strong time management skills.

    • Must pass all pre-employment checks, such as criminal background check and reference checks.

    • Minimum 2 years of experience in sales or equivalent field.

    • Minimum 1 year of experience working with the public, formal and informal settings.

    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of experience and education.

    • Understanding of confidentiality and protocol.

    • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication and customer service skills to work effectively with people of diverse talents and backgrounds.

    • Demonstrated skills conveying messages to small and large groups, and informing and influencing people.

    • Ability to sell and close, and effectively develop and expand client base.

    • Demonstrated knowledge of marketing and sales techniques, with the strong ability to sell products.

    • Demonstrated ability to promote teamwork and collaboration.

    • Ability to work under pressure with flexibility in a fast-paced, high-volume sales environment.

    • Ability to work independently as well as in teams.

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.

    Previous experience with database systems, bilingual Spanish/English, and experience with volunteers is preferred.

    Director of Creative Services
    Regular, Full-Time


    Do you love leading a talented team in developing, designing and fabricating interpretive exhibits in science, math, technology, and engineering education? The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) is looking to grow its exhibit programs within the museum and exhibit sales. A successful exhibit for OMSI means more children and families learn the critical hands on science, technology and design skills needed in our rapidly changing world.


    What you'll do:  


    You’ll lead a dynamic team of experts and on-call/contracted external resources to support exhibit needs including engineering, graphics, technical writing, fabrication, interactive development, electronics, mechanics, scenic production, audio-visual and lighting systems, artifact mounting and installation. You’ll also work closely with project managers to ensure project costs are estimated as accurately possible and project deliverables are completed on time and on budget, as well as manage the Creative Services team to support project teams across OMSI in developing proposals for grants and third-party exhibit sales.


    What you'll need:  


    • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and contract with third-party vendors. 
    • Ability to effectively manage and track multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize, work well under pressure with a high degree of accuracy, and meet stringent and overlapping deadlines.  
    • Demonstrated budgeting and estimating skills. 
    • Demonstrated knowledge of exhibit design and fabrication.  
    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of experience and education. 
    • Minimum 5 years of progressive interactive exhibit design and production management, including staff supervision, multiple project management, and budget responsibility.  
    • Minimum 3 years administrative experience, including budgets, federal and private grants, and staffing.  
    • Valid driver’s license.  
    • Pre-employment checks, such as criminal background check, reference checks, and requirements in the MVR Policy including passing Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.

    Southern Oregon Historical Society Exhibition Internship

    Paid Internship

    Term: October 2015 - January 2016 (25-30 hours per week)


    Internship Overview:

    The Southern Oregon Historical Society (www.sohs.org) seeks a motivated and creative Exhibition Intern for Fall 2015. This individual will assist the SOHS Exhibitions Curator and staff to create and install an approximately 2,000 sq ft exhibition on Chinese history in Southern Oregon. As SOHS has no formal museum galleries, this exhibition will be installed in a public location (to be determined). For example, the 2015 exhibition was installed in an empty store donated by the Rogue Valley Mall.


    Interns will have the opportunity to help:

     - Research Chinese history in Southern Oregon

     - Write and edit exhibition text

     - Select objects 

     - Participate in design meetings

     - Install the exhibition as part of a team


    The successful candidate will be detail oriented, organized, and able to work independently. Must be able to work with and meet deadlines, lift up to 30 pounds, and climb stairs and ladders. Preference will be given to candidates with previous museum work or course experience and/or candidates wishing to pursue a career in museums.  


    Stipend: $2,000

    Clackamas County Historical Society seeks a Director of Program & Experiences


    Position Statement

    Be the team leader in developing an educational visitor experience around Clackamas County History.  Programming and experiences should be relevant, creative, informational, and have visitor appeal.


    Qualities

    Applicant must have an appreciation and knowledge of history, familiarity with technology, great organizational skills, and the ability to tell a compelling story. The ability to think creatively and approach problems with a positive attitude is also essential. Applicant will be expected to work in a team building environment with volunteers and other community members. College degree required and some teaching experience preferred. 


    Results 

    1. Develop monthly programs, workshops, special programs, and guided educational tours as related to historic Clackamas County.


    2. Assist with grant applications, activities, and reports.


    3. Develop community and school age education programs based on Oregon curriculum standards.


    4. Collaborate with other heritage organizations.


    5. Collaborate with tourism groups.


    6. Collaborate with volunteers on docent activities.



    20 hours per week with flexible hours.$16.00/hour
