Benton County Historical Society and Museum
The Presidential Medallion Quilt Project is an exhibition of forty-three, Presidential quilts. Each quilt uses an historically correct pattern and fabric either period or reproduction for each presidential term of office. The makers are quilt historians and enthusiasts from across the United States who are affiliated with the American Quilt Study Group. The exhibition will be open at Benton County Museum through March 5, 2016.
“This exhibition is both visually appealing and intellectually stimulating. It gets people talking” says museum curator Mark Tolonen. “Who is the earliest president that you personally recall?” and “Which is your favorite president?” he asks visitors.
The museum is using Facebook to post presidential history anecdotes and featured objects from the museum collection in support of the quilt exhibition: https://www.facebook.com/BentonCountyMuseum
